A 33 square meter apartment is certainly not a hindrance to designing it both functionally and beautifully. One example is a residence in Moscow, Russia, designed by Studio Bazi. With compact furniture, this open-plan flat can meet the needs of its occupants. The design was commissioned by the client, a bachelor who wanted to modernize the interior of his home and make it more suitable for his needs.

This residence has its entrance on the floor above, dividing it into two levels. On the upper floor, there's only the entrance and a toilet. In this area, visitors can hang their jackets or coats. The lower floor is used as a bedroom, kitchen, dining area, workspace, and relaxation space. This arrangement is made possible through organized furniture placement.

The interior of the residence has a very clean and minimalist look, with the use of two color schemes: white and wood. It combines a warm and cool atmosphere within.

Upon descending the stairs, visitors are immediately greeted by the living area. This living area is unique as it can also serve as a workspace and dining area. There are folding chairs hanging next to a bookshelf. These folding chairs save space within the residence and make the room feel more spacious. When guests arrive, the chairs can be opened, but if not, they won't disrupt the circulation within the space. The round table in this room can be used as a dining table for gatherings.

In the corner of the room, there is a comfortable sofa and a coffee table, perfect for reading. The wide glass windows undoubtedly make the room feel brighter and more spacious, thanks to the light reflecting off its white walls. The presence of upward-facing floor lamps provides indirect lighting, preventing it from being too harsh on the eyes.

Meanwhile, right under the stairs, there are shelves with white handles in the middle of them. What's unique about these cabinet shelves is that they are designed to adapt to the slope of the stairs. The closet shelves serve their functions based on their height. As seen in the picture, the taller shelves are used to store clothing, while the shortest ones are for placing shoes. Inside these shelves, there are also additional compartments used for clothing accessories such as watches or ties.

Beside these clothing shelves, there is a transparent glass door leading to the bathroom area of the residence. This bathroom is unique because it can be accessed from the outside. Additionally, there is a round window leading into the bedroom, allowing natural light to flow in from the bedroom's direction. Inside the bathroom, there is a shower area and a sink. The toilet itself is located on the upper floor near the entrance.

Then, right across from the bathroom and clothing closet, there is a wooden cabinet that is undoubtedly one of the interesting features of this residence. This wooden cabinet serves as a service area for the residence, including the kitchen and laundry. The wooden doors that resemble a wardrobe make the interior of the residence always appear clean when that area is not in use.

On the left side, there is a kitchen table complete with various kitchen appliances. This includes an electric stove, which provides a minimalist and uncluttered appearance to the kitchen area. There's also a well-organized spice rack on the back wall. Additionally, there's a sink for washing dishes and hanging racks nearby. As for various cooking and dining utensils, they are neatly stored in the shelves beneath the kitchen table. This highly compact design makes the residence more minimalist and tidy.

Next to it, there is a mini-sized washing machine and various cleaning supplies. There is also a folding table used for ironing clothes, cleverly stored within this rack. Various laundry soaps and fabric softeners are neatly and safely stored inside. It's a unique and adorable setup.

Moving to the bedroom area, the bedroom itself appears clean and bright, surrounded by white on various sides. Next to the bed, there is a table where the occupant can place a bedside lamp or other necessary items. On the other side, there is a window that can be opened in the morning to let fresh air into the residence. Sleeping comfortably in this room is certainly possible.

The various pieces of furniture inside the residence have a similar shape and appearance, as can be seen in the various stainless steel tables and chairs. The products in the kitchen area were built after creating prototypes to envision how they would fit inside the residence. Apart from the unique furniture, oak wood stands out as a prominent material used in the interior.

Despite its open appearance, one of the wooden shelves hides a block that contains sliding curtains. These curtains are used to separate the bedroom and bathroom area from the living room and kitchen. This is because both areas require more privacy and it would be uncomfortable if they were directly visible to visiting guests. With these curtains, the bedroom and bathroom feel more private and comfortable.
