The house, a creation by Wahana Architects in Jakarta, boasts a luxurious and impressive design. With a living area of 1800 square meters, this 2009 project resembles a boxy house hidden amidst lush trees. Despite its substantial size, the abundance of openings creates a sense of spaciousness and comfort.

The residence, comprising three floors and a basement, is situated in the West Jakarta residential area. To prevent the building mass from feeling too congested, a horizontal line concept was applied to keep the house scale suitable for its occupants. One of the challenges faced by the architect in designing this extensive house was to create a sense of intimacy and warmth among the family members inside.

A remarkable aspect of this house is its concealed exterior due to the dense and abundant surrounding trees. This contributes to its allure, enhancing both the house and its environment. The 1500 square meter house encompasses quite a few rooms. Apart from the ample open spaces, the interior rooms are also designed spaciously.

The house features an impressive living room, adorned with a very wide and long sofa. The overall interior exudes an elegant design. The room is surrounded by glass windows that overlook the lush garden and the serene outdoor pond. The black ceramic flooring and wooden ceiling impart a highly sophisticated ambiance to the living space, leaving a positive impression on the guests.

Another unique living room is smaller in size but equipped with a television and fewer chairs than the former. This room overlooks the serene view of the koi fish pond on one side. Various decorations like sculptures and assorted items are placed on the shelves.

Five bedrooms are available within this house, comprising three children's bedrooms, one master bedroom, and one guest bedroom. The guest bedroom is located on the ground floor, while the other bedrooms are on the upper floor.

The second floor of the house is relatively private, specifically designated for the family. After ascending the staircase, the residents are greeted with a comfortable family room to foster closeness among family members. Three equally sized children's bedrooms are arranged in a row, each equipped with an en-suite bathroom and windows overlooking the pool and garden area.

The parents' master bedroom, on the other hand, is situated at the end of the space after passing through the children's bedrooms. This bedroom is furnished with a lounge area, a changing area, and an extremely spacious en-suite bathroom. The room also features a roofed balcony that allows the occupants to enjoy the outdoor view from their bedroom.

This expansive residence also features a cozy terrace offering a captivating view of the entire open space. There is also a sheltered relaxation area. The house is predominantly surrounded by glass walls, creating a very natural ambiance throughout the house. Every morning, the residents can savor this refreshing atmosphere.

On the top floor of the house, the rooftop area is utilized for exercising and relaxation. The roof is uniquely designed, showcasing a neatly structured roof frame. This area is equipped with a boundary fence utilized as a planting medium, ensuring safety for the occupants in this space.

The color selection in the interior of this residence is harmonious overall. The furniture is chosen to complement the architectural design, hence the selected colors are brown, gray, beige, and black. These colors infuse a warmer atmosphere into every corner of the house. Various types of wood used in this house are recycled materials from the previous residence of the occupants, making this house more environmentally friendly. Despite utilizing relatively old-looking wood materials, this home design feels modern.
