The Hale Nukumoi: Beachfront House in Hawaii That Makes the Atmosphere Feel More Refreshing
Hawaii boasts various enchanting places and refreshing beachfronts. One architectural firm from the US, Walker Warner, designed a house named Hale Nukumoi with various open areas that undoubtedly make the house feel more enjoyable.
Located in Kauai, the largest tropical island in the area, the entire house is surrounded by palm trees, providing a private space around the entrance. The front of the house faces the street, while the back of the house overlooks the popular public beach and the ocean.
This two-story house is constructed primarily with concrete as its main structure. Dark-colored timber wood is used in the construction of the upper floor. The roof of this open area is designed to extend widely, providing shade for the entire relaxation area. The various materials used in this house reflect its tropical essence.
The ground floor of this house is used as a gathering and relaxation area. There is a kitchen area with a bar and a dining area with a long dining table.
The dining area is followed by a sitting area and a living room with a coffee table and comfortable sofas. The large, elongated sofa can accommodate many people comfortably.
An outdoor bar area with large windows is also attractively designed next to the kitchen. This area directly faces the sea, allowing those inside to enjoy beautiful views.
There are also two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms on this floor. Interestingly, one of the bedrooms on this floor has bunk beds that can accommodate up to 6 people.
While the house appears open, it can also be closed off to provide privacy. Sliding doors as wide as the wall are used to enclose the gathering area, making the house more secure in terms of both safety and weather conditions outside. These sliding doors are stored within the main wall of the building when the room is open.
The upper floor is used as bedrooms. There are three bedrooms on this floor. Two of them have a similar appearance to the bedrooms below, while the master bedroom is larger in size, with a walk-in closet and a larger bathroom. This room faces the beach. The laundry area is also on the second floor of the house.
The abundance of bedrooms in this house allows it to accommodate visiting guests. Bunk bed rooms are available for guests, such as children.
The interior of the house is designed to resemble a ship, with bunk beds equipped with numbered storage spaces. This numbering is also used so that guests can safely and neatly store their belongings under their supervision.
The use of light wood colors is evident throughout the interior. The floor and walls are coordinated with the wood on the ceiling, creating a harmonious feel throughout the building. Not only the interior, but the exterior of the house, with its simple and natural colors, provides a stunning appearance amidst the refreshing coastal surroundings.
