This modern contemporary-style house in Bandung, Indonesia, is quite a challenging project for eRe Studio, the architect. Located on a spacious 810-square-meter plot, the house, built in 2014, stretches out to the east. The design aims to address various environmental issues such as the seasons and air quality. Therefore, the architect decided to protect the ground-floor rooms with a garden. This garden serves as a crucial element for introducing natural light and fresh air into each room.

From the front of the house, it appears simple and unassuming. The large front yard is sufficient for parking vehicles, with porous paving covering the ground. With its white walls and a corridor leading to the main entrance, no one would expect the remarkable interior of this house.

This spacious house has an open area with a beautiful garden inside. The outer corridor connected to the entrance also resembles the interior with its circular columns. Additionally, potted plants placed on custom shelves serve as room dividers.

Upon entering the house and passing through the garden corridor, visitors will discover the uniqueness of this house, featuring an open pool area surrounded by windows on all three sides. Vining plants on the windows add a touch of nature to this area and create a natural atmosphere.

Behind the right-side wall of the pool area is a spacious living room equipped with ethnic-style wooden chairs and tables. On the left-side wall is the family room, a place to gather and relax.

In the family room, there is a wooden shelf covering one entire wall. Modern gray sofas complete the room, along with the unique ceiling design and round pendant lights. It's a comfortable space for gatherings.

The family room is also connected to the dining area, which is quite open. With windows on both sides, it connects to the garden within the house, allowing for good air circulation. The long wooden table with natural wood grain patterns and comfortable chairs can accommodate up to eight people. The space is spacious and not overly decorated, ensuring functionality and freedom of movement.

The elegant kitchen features glossy black surfaces. Located in a corner of the room, it has a bar table and chairs that match the dining table's color. The combination of black, white, and wooden brown makes the room lively and neat. It's a visually appealing and non-monotonous space.

The second floor of the house is not spread throughout the entire mass but is limited to specific sections. The frontmost mass of the building is used as a maid's bedroom, while the other building mass is used as bedrooms.

The extensive land is primarily utilized by the owner to place various main rooms on the ground floor, such as several bedrooms, a workspace, and a media room located at the back of the house. Thus, the zoning of the house is clearly visible, with the front part serving as public and service areas, while the rear part is reserved for private use.

The predominant material in this house is wood from Java, which brings warmth to the interior, contrasting with the geometric exterior of the building.

Various interior needs, including custom furniture, were designed by e.Re Studio, including rustic doors, wall features, windows, and cabinets, all thoughtfully designed to suit the house.
