Alexey Steshak is one of the most talented decorators. He is called the mad decorator because his decorations are quite crazy. One of his most recent projects is the Black Bar in Altai Republic, Russia. Of course, designing the interior of this bar was not easy. It took him a year to decorate it into a unique bar. This is because he did it alone without the help of anyone else. Of course, this is influenced by his work in various fields of art such as interior design, mosaic, modeling, furniture designer, and various other arts. For him, the bar he designed is not only an interior but also a story in the room.

Alexey did not just decorate the interior but also collected stories from various people about the place. From there he tried to combine a story with the interior. With his mosaic style, he tried to apply it in the bar room.

He began a fictional story for the bar by telling the story of a successful wood smelting factory. But its success suddenly vanished in a few hours due to a disaster.

The patrons of this bar wanted an Irish-style pub. But Alexey turned it into something different with the various interior designs he created. Since he expected the patrons to be more male, black and gray were chosen as the main colors in the space.

Because of his perfectionism, designing everything for the bar himself is second nature to him. From sofas, wooden frames for mirrors, melted-looking doors, to various other works such as the mosaic paintings he designed. The works he produces are full of the intricacies of manual labor. By pouring all his heart into his work, he creates beautiful designs with an interesting story.

Every room and corner has a story to tell about the building. It starts with the story of Professor Plav, who studied for 25 years and invented a method of smelting wood in 1876 that won a Nobel Prize.

It was at the World Science Festival in Paris that Professor Plav demonstrated his work and met the wealthy businessman Gilbert Black. Black was so amazed and interested in this invention that he invited Plav to open a smelting plant.

A main room in the factory is separated from the other rooms by a strong wall, and right behind it is a large smelting furnace. The interior is a dining area with sofas and a design that shows the furnace area. There are also four chandeliers on the ceiling.

In the story, this hot place is operated by a robot because the temperature inside is unbearable by humans. Even part of the ceiling melted into a frame on the mirror.

The hall is the reception area and the place where the employees work. In this area there are tables, palm trees, and also fans that spin and sound. Now in reality the area is designed to be a dining room with a bar on one side of the wall. Another unique feature of the main dining and bar area is the uniquely arranged ceiling.

Then around the dining room there is a small storage room where chemicals are stored to melt. In this place, Professor Plav also made a stirring robot that is used to mix dangerous chemicals in the storage room. The room in question is a corridor with a sink on the wall. It connects two other rooms, the men's and women's restrooms.

On the sink, there is a unique image of a robot prototype. Interestingly, this sink was actually designed manually. All the details are artistically arranged by Alexey.

The men's restroom area is a storage area for chemicals that are a unique mixture for the smelting process. The unique design is seen with the combination of gold metal cladding with black stone arrangement around the wall surface.

As for the ladies' restroom, it is a storage shed with an open space where wild plants grow with beautiful flowers on the wall. Like vines, the tiles on the walls are beautifully designed. Of course, it matches the theme of the story being told.

The disaster that occurred at this factory took place late at night. Due to a poorly processed mixture, the work area caught fire, triggering a huge explosion. Fortunately, the factory was empty at the time, so there were no casualties.

The strong partition walls were simply destroyed. The blast of hot air entered the corridor area and melted everything in its path including the front door.

Because of this, the factory was closed. Then a few decades later they (the bar owners) found the place and rebuilt it. In addition to restarting the professor's robots, they also found paintings that had miraculously survived and hung them on the walls. The corridor decorated with the artwork was of course done by Alexey. The floor tiles were also made interesting with various random arrangement patterns. There is one unique painting that is thought to be the professor's current lover.

That's the story of the black bar that turned from a factory into a bar. Of course, this story makes people curious about this place. Some people have even Googled this story, which was originally made up by Alexey. But the story and interior design feel so similar that this story becomes quite interesting to follow.

The picture above is a detail of the black bar ceiling. Of course, it is made piece by piece by Alexey so that it has various sizes and shapes. The ceiling beams are thicker or thinner, showing the texture of the ceiling.

Not only the ceiling, but also all the other decorations in the room. From the metal walls, chandeliers, to the paintings and ornaments that looked like they were melting, it was all the result of a year's hard work. No wonder he has the nickname "Mad Decorator".
