Layout of Simple Home for Newlyweds

When a newlywed couple begins their journey together, building a home often becomes one of their first considerations. Limited funds and time constraints can pose challenges. Even with a relatively small home, it should still be capable of accommodating the daily activities and routines of its inhabitants. A two-bedroom home is a common choice. Why two bedrooms? This is a long-term consideration, as the house needs to have a primary bedroom for the couple and a bedroom for their future child. Here are some examples of one-story home layout designs with two bedrooms for newlyweds.

This home has a simple square-shaped layout. Upon entering, visitors are greeted by a modest living room. The next space contains the dining area and a spacious kitchen. The dining area also serves as the family gathering space. There is also a relaxation porch in the next area. One of the bedrooms also has a porch that overlooks the exterior of the building, and there is an en-suite bathroom.

This home extends toward the back. Upon entering, visitors find themselves in a mudroom for shoe storage and other items. The house has clearly defined private and public areas. The house is divided into two parts by a long wall. In the public area, there's a kitchen, dining room, family room (which also doubles as a living room), and a porch. On the other side of the wall, there are the primary bedroom, a child's bedroom, and a bathroom. The transition space connecting these three rooms is right in front of the bathroom.

Zoning the house into three grid lines is another option. The bedrooms are placed opposite each other, and the family room serves as the connecting area between the two bedrooms. The primary bedroom features an en-suite bathroom with a bathtub. There's also a laundry room near the kitchen. A small porch adds charm to the house.

Combining the dining room, living room, and family room into one space can save room inside the house. The kitchen is also compact, taking up minimal space. In this design, no space is wasted.

Returning to a house with a long plot, this design appears comfortable and simple. The hallway and kitchen act as transitional spaces leading to the bedrooms and bathrooms. A small porch in the family room area adds a touch of serenity to this livable home.

There are several interesting features in this design. The triangular porch provides both privacy and a relaxation space for the owners of the bedrooms. Despite its relatively small size, it's quite comfortable to live in. Unlike most previous designs, the bedrooms are located in the front corridor. The living room, family room, and kitchen are positioned deeper within the house. There's only one shared bathroom in this beautifully designed home.

In designing the layout of a home for a newlywed couple, it's essential to consider simplicity and long-term planning for space utilization. Each room can be multifunctional to ensure that no space goes to waste.
