It is commonly called metaphorical architecture, and its designs often resemble objects we commonly see in everyday life. This naturally makes such buildings eye-catching.

1. Indira Gandhi Planetarium, India

If you look at this building, you'll immediately be reminded of one of the planets in the universe. Yes, it resembles Saturn with its rings, and its purpose is indeed as a planetarium. The combination of yellow and orange colors makes the building striking. It has been in use since 1993.

2. Montaña Mágica Lodge, Chili

This building, covered in lush greenery, is actually an exclusive hotel in Chile. Its shape resembles a mountain with a peak that releases water like lava. The design is incredibly beautiful and harmonizes with nature. It exudes a natural and refreshing ambiance.

3. Toilet Shaped House, South Korea

When viewed from below, this building appears as a regular oval shape. However, when you look at it from above, you'll understand why it's called the Toilet House. The inspiration for this unique design came from its owner, Sim Jae-Duck, who was the chairman of the World Toilet Organization. He decided to turn this inspiration into a house. It's certainly unique and interesting.

This building, inspired by musical instruments, was constructed in 2007 in Huainan, China. It's used as a showroom. The transparent violin-shaped structure is used for vertical circulation, such as escalators and stairs, while the piano-shaped sections serve as various showroom areas. The atmosphere changes dramatically during morning, afternoon, and evening, showcasing the building's beauty in different lights.

5. Nautilus House, Meksiko

This unique shell-shaped house was built in 2006 and designed by Mexican architect Arquitectura Organica. The design aims to harmonize the building with nature. It features an organic design using various materials, creating warmth and authenticity in the space. Different materials were carefully chosen for both the interior and exterior.

6. Basket Building, Ohio

Who isn't familiar with this one? The building shaped like a picnic basket indeed makes people around it turn their heads. This yellow building is the headquarters of the Longaberger Basket Company, known for producing baskets made from maple wood. The idea for this unique structure came from the company's founder, Dave Longaberger. It's constructed with steel and plastered with cement.

7. Cubic Houses, Belanda


These unique cube-shaped houses were designed by Piet Blom. The architect implemented this unique design when asked to build houses between pedestrian bridges that already existed on the site. The cube houses are tilted atop pylons to resemble an abstract tree. Each cube house consists of three floors.

8. Nakagin Capsule Tower, Jepang

This unique building in Tokyo, Japan, was completed in 1972. It functions as a capsule hotel, with each room inside the building being small and designed only for sleeping and resting. It's quite different from conventional hotels, but its small size makes it affordable. That's why this capsule hotel is a popular choice for backpackers visiting Tokyo.

9. The bank of Asia (Robot Building), Thailand

Viewing this building from a distance certainly reveals a unique robot-like figure. The prominent building in Bangkok's business district is the Bank of Asia building. It was inspired by computerized banking systems, expressing the love for technology and modern art.

10. Hashtag Tower, South Korea

This building resembles the shape of a hashtag (#) or a fence and is used as an office building for the Danish architectural company Bjarke Ingels Group. It's called the Cros # Tower and is located in Seoul, South Korea. The building consists of a pair of skyscrapers connected by two bridges above and below.
