Pasir Ris Central Hawker Centre is one of the food courts in Singapore. The newly opened Food Court on January 25, 2018, is an exciting dining place with a unique concept. Incorporating two concepts in one building, many people are eagerly anticipating this place.

Hawker Centre Building

The design of the Pasir Ris Central Hawker Centre building is grand and unique. It consists of 3 floors, with two floors dedicated to the food court and the top floor for parking. This is certainly unusual. The building is designed with a contemporary style that integrates well with the surrounding environment. The view towards the park and the lake makes visitors comfortable when visiting this new building.

Second Floor of the Hawker Centre

Managed by NTUC foodfare, the hawker centre offers traditional and modern hipster food stalls that are not commonly found in most food courts. With this hipster theme, it will certainly pique the curiosity of young people and attract them to this place.

Local Food Area on the Ground Floor

For the traditional area, it is located on the ground floor, consisting of 20 food stalls that serve local food that is part of the daily routine for the people of Singapore. These foods are commonly consumed, allowing people looking for a quick lunch or an ordinary meal to comfortably visit this place. The foods served include chicken rice, noodles, and various other local dishes.

One of the Stalls on the Second Floor (FareGround)

On the upper floor, visitors will find a trendy dining place for young people called "FareGround". Not only is the food hipster-inspired, but the design of the food court is also tailored to the trendy youth. There will be 22 street food-style stalls, allowing young people to offer innovative and unique food. This place is expected to be a gathering and hangout spot for young people.

Atmosphere at FareGround Area

Each food stall in this place offers quite intriguing food. For example, "the humble burger" stall sells burgers and other Western food items combined with Asian specialties like burgers with Japanese rice or chicken with soy sauce. Additionally, there are trendy foods like Korean bingsu and ice cream stalls.

FareGround Interior

The requirement at this food court is that each stall must provide healthy food options under 500 calories on their menu. Not only healthy, but they also have to offer two types of affordable food, so anyone can enjoy this dining place.

Electronic Payments

The FareGround area is quite spacious and cool. The furniture resembles a hipster cafe for young people, with a mix and match of tables and chairs, bar tables, and colorful decorations inside. To promote reducing cash payments, the hawker centre allows payment with a top-up card. This card will accumulate points for every use that can be redeemed for various other foods in the hawker centre and 100 other stalls at NTUC FairPrice.

Utensil Return Area

Not only the design and food have been improved at this food court, there are other features that make this place more attractive and productive. For instance, a dedicated area for returning used utensils has been provided. This will ease the management of food waste and the cleaning of eating utensils. There is also a family dining area with comfortable seating for children and easy access for people with disabilities. Not only that, even the parking area is made convenient with an electronic system and secure parking spaces for cyclists.

Utensil Return Area

The dual concept of the hawker centre raises many questions, making people curious to visit this place. It is fascinating to combine local food with street food snacks. However, with this concept, visitors will not get bored due to the abundance of food choices. Promoting healthy eating, improving well-being with the latest innovations, and supporting young entrepreneurs make the hawker centre an exciting place to visit.
