IKEA Launches Special Furniture for Dogs and Cats! Turns Out, Their Products Are Truly Fascinating!!!

IKEA never seems to run out of ideas for producing furniture. Not only successful in marketing furniture for homes, but this time their products have also piqued the interest of pet owners. The Lurvig collection was designed by Inma Bermudez, who felt that there was a demand for reasonably priced products for animals but with a good design. This collection includes cushion beds and scratching carpets.

When designing products for pets like cats and dogs, this Valencia-based designer collaborated with Barbara Schäfer, a veterinarian. This was done to ensure the nature and habits of each pet were taken into account. It's important to understand the needs and habits of animals, such as how they sleep, eat, and play.

For example, dogs will chew on their toys and leave muddy footprints when they walk, which is different from cats that like to scratch various objects and are sensitive to smells and textures. Therefore, using safe and durable materials becomes crucial when designing.

Bermudez has released 62 collections for sleeping, eating, playing, and walking. For sleeping, she designed the Klippan mini sofa, a mini treehouse, and a rack inside it.

Don't forget the familiar scents, which can be provided by using the owner's old clothes or blankets. Meanwhile, the bed frame can be used as a comfortable support.

For the designer, the most rewarding aspect of her design is the pet cushion, where she encourages owners to fill it with their old clothes or blankets. This way, pets feel comfortable.

As for eating habits, she designed bowls that make dogs eat more slowly. Unlike cats, who understand their food limits, dogs have a strong appetite and can overeat. Therefore, the bowl's design, by changing its bottom part, prevents dogs from immediately consuming all their food in one go.

There are also accessories to make it easier to transport dogs or cats comfortably, such as this basket bag. Its size makes it convenient when you take your pet to the pet salon or the veterinarian. It's practical, and pets will feel comfortable when traveling. Furthermore, its transparent material prevents pets from feeling confined inside the bag.
