Casa Lago: Hillside Home with Modern Appearance and Stunning Lake Views.
A house named Casa Lago, which means "Lake House" in Spanish, was designed by FARQ Arquitectos. Located in Jocotepec, Mexico, this 410-square-meter (4413 square feet) home features a modern design both on the exterior and interior, which is both captivating and appealing.
This house was designed with three main principles in mind: lighting, views, and space. Every corner of the house adheres to these fundamental aspects. The entire interior feels bright, thanks to the use of white walls and a generous ceiling-to-floor height. This design choice creates a sense of spaciousness and comfort.
The single-story house's primary vision is to showcase the nearby lake views. To achieve this vision, the house is elevated 5.5 meters (18 feet) above the ground level. This elevation allows the house to look down toward the lower-lying lake.
The layout of the house is relatively straightforward. To enter the house, visitors pass through an iron gate and ramps leading to the rear of the house, which serves as the entrance to the building. There's a parking area followed by a front terrace with double doors.
Upon entering the house, visitors walk through a corridor featuring a mini garden. The presence of trees in this welcoming area creates a friendly and natural ambiance. This corridor serves as a connection between public and private spaces.
At both ends of the corridor, there are bedrooms. To the right, the main bedroom is located, complete with an en-suite bathroom, shower area, and a walk-in closet. This bedroom also features sliding windows with a balcony, extending into the outdoor terrace.
On the left end of the corridor, there is a bedroom with two separate beds. This room also comes with an en-suite bathroom and a balcony.
The central area comprising the dining and family/living rooms is directly visible from the corridor. Descending a few steps, visitors can relax on the comfortable sofas in this room while enjoying views of the lake outside.
The kitchen area is also part of the central space of the house. This central space serves as the main hub connecting all the rooms and provides excellent airflow and natural light. It opens up to an outdoor terrace with floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors, creating a seamless connection to the exterior.
The swimming pool in the house has a floating design with one of its walls enclosed in glass. The modern pool design provides a comfortable place to relax. There are also outdoor bathrooms and changing areas. The outdoor relaxation area is furnished with sofas and a large umbrella to provide shade when needed.
