A duo who dreamed of becoming a writer and photographer had a hard time making ends meet. In pursuit of their dream, they planned to travel around North America for a year in a mini house and write everything down as their portfolio. The house they designed was a trial-and-error experience where they learned from their mistakes and built what they call their "home".

The first thing to consider in building a house is the foundation. In this one house, the foundation is aimed at the bottom of the house, which is a steel trailer with wheels. This foundation was chosen of course to make it easier for them to take their house wherever they went. From there, Jenna and Guillaume began to design it by installing the structure and wooden planks as the floor surface followed by wooden frames for the walls. The walls are of course insulated so that heat from outside does not enter the house directly. Similarly, the roof is also covered with insulation foam.

This house is designed with a rectangular layout and an isosceles triangular horse roof. However, at the back it adds height by providing an attic to be used as the owner's bed. The entrance door is placed at the corner of the house and is equipped with a window opening in front of it. Light can enter the house through various windows in the house such as wall windows and skylights.

Choosing the outer wall cladding is certainly an important thing for them. Of course, this small house needs to look sturdy and stylish before they start their journey. The other main thing is that the house can reflect their personal style. Considering the budget, durability, weight of the material, and of course the look of the material. They considered all the materials and figured out their strengths and weaknesses. They chose vintage-style reclaimed wood as the look for the house.

On the inside of the house there are various spaces that are comfortably used by the homeowner. We can see right next to the window there is a sofa chair for relaxing. Then above the area there is an attic that can also be used to rest and see the outside from the round window.

Another unique thing is the use of smart furniture applied in this house. The sofa used as a relaxing area has multifunctional uses. In addition to the sofa, this furniture can become a comfortable sofa bed. The wall decoration board in the room can be used as a folding table. Then there is a cube sofa seat inside which is used as a storage space.

The picture above is the first thing we see when we walk into this house. Of course, we can see the kitchen and various storage cabins on the ground floor of this mini house. Not forgetting the heater. Then right at the back which is limited by a wooden wall and curtain as a cover is the bathroom space.

The cabin shelf on the right is also used as a staircase to go up to the bedroom located in the attic. This bedroom has a different roof from the loft on the opposite side. Made more spacious, this area is equipped with a double bed and also a window as an area for air and light circulation. This area was designed to be beautiful and cozy for the couple.

For the bathroom, the entire inner wall is covered with corrugated steel. Of course, this material is used to prevent the walls from getting damp. Water will not seep into this material. The bathroom is very complete for a mini house. There is a toilet seat, bathtub, and shower. Shelves to place various bathroom necessities are also located on both sides of the bathroom. A window is also installed on the center wall to ventilate this room.
