Designing an eco-friendly home is a must for every architect in the world. An environmentally friendly design with energy minimization, a variety of plants and also enough open space in the house are some of the ways to realize an eco-house. Just like this house in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The house, designed by MM++ Architects, feels very beautiful both outside and inside the building.

This house was built in a fairly dense residential area of Ho Chi Minh City. This house is of course side by side and directly adjacent to the neighboring house next to it. The size of the house is 13 meters x 19 meters and belongs to a young couple with two children. With the size of the house which is certainly not small, the residential arrangement is equipped with a patio and voids in the interior. Of course, the existence of this patio makes natural sunlight easily enter the dwelling. Plus the circulation of air exchange becomes easier.

This two-storey house has a westward orientation. Because of this, a sunshade was made on the front so that the hot sunlight during the day does not enter the house directly. The open window veranda on the upper floor allows light to enter and be channeled to the ground floor through the patio.

Uniquely, the ground floor is elevated so that it is different from the height of the street. This allows residents to see towards the vehicle parking lot. The very high outer fence certainly gives the homeowner privacy with the dense streets outside his residence. Very unique for a residential house.

To enter this residence, there are two entrances. The glass wall at the front of the house is of course exposed for guests, but because the height from the street is different, not the entire interior can be directly seen. For the guest entrance, there is a staircase with a mini garden with various plants decorating it. The stairs lead guests to the terrace before entering the living room. While the other door is a door with stairs that leads directly to the patio area and kitchen from the parking lot.

On this first floor, there are various public and private facilities. In addition to the living room, patio and kitchen, there is also a master bedroom and service areas such as toilets and laundry. The living room on this floor feels very spacious with the patio. Right next to the living room there are stairs leading to the upper floor. There is a comfortable sofa, a low guest table, and a television as an indoor entertainment facility.

The kitchen, which is also equipped with a dining area, has a very prominent appearance. The wood-clad wall is a vocal point in this open space. The kitchen that looks elegant and also complete is very pleasant for residents who like cooking activities. There is a long and spacious dining table that can be used for large events in this house.

The star of the show is the patio, which feels very beautiful and refreshing. The patio area is designed with trees and also a water pool. The ceiling is designed with skylights. The wooden stand also functions with a bookshelf at the bottom. Residents can certainly sit while reading the books available. Coupled with the natural freshness, it makes the mind clearer when reading.

The master bedroom on the ground floor is designed to be very spacious. The bed area is equipped with a relaxing sitting area with a television on the wall. Air-conditioning and ceiling fans are also available in this sleeping area. Uniquely, the master bedroom also has access to an open space through its sliding windows. The open area is covered with vines on the walls.

In addition to the sleeping area, there is also a closet space for clothes storage and a bathroom. The bathroom is designed to be semi-open, very natural and refreshing. There is a bathtub and shower for bathing in this room. The shower area is designed with natural wall and floor materials. On the roof there is a skylight where light can enter the bathroom.

The upstairs is more of a private area. There is a living room, two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a workspace, and also a balcony area with city views. This floor has a large void area which is certainly a path for light and air circulation.

In the balcony area, there is a sliding window that connects the inner space with the outer area. The balcony area appears to be decorated with a variety of plants. Not only does it make this area feel fresh, but also beautiful and comfortable. The glass divider that secures the balcony area maintains its exterior formation. From the balcony, light and air enter the sliding windows and circulate in the room, both upstairs and downstairs through the open space of the patio.

Both children's bedrooms are also designed with glass partitions. The partitions certainly expose the entire space but also provide an interesting view of the beauty outside the rooms. This house is certainly very comfortable and environmentally friendly. This residence appears minimalist and modern.
