Ben House GP: The Vertical Garden in the House that Provides Refreshment for All Its Inhabitants.

The house designed by Wahana Architects is located in South Jakarta. With a total area of 800 square meters, this house, built in 2014, boasts a refreshing and beautiful design. It is a three-story building constructed on a 400-square-meter plot of land, and each floor offers varying levels of privacy. The basement floor is used for service areas, while the ground floor and top floor serve as semi-private and private spaces.

In a densely populated area, maximizing land usage is the right choice. This posed a challenge for the designers to explore every corner and design the house to its fullest potential.

The exterior of the house exudes a modern yet natural ambiance due to the brown hues of the materials used. Inside the house, there's a swimming pool with a terrace deck that connects to the family room and dining area on the ground floor. This void area provides a sense of freshness and circulation for air and light within the house. The presence of a vertical garden adds a tropical touch to the home.

On the opposite side of the pool, there is a staircase leading to the upper floors. The house is designed to be transparent, with glass panels serving as interior partitions.

The basement floor serves as a service area with parking space, maid's bedrooms, and bathrooms. It also includes a mini kitchen and a resting area.

The ground floor features a family room, dining room, kitchen, and a guest bedroom. The swimming pool and sunbathing area are also located on this floor. This is the main area where family members gather and engage in activities.

On the topmost floor, there are two children's bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, the master bedroom with a walk-in closet and en-suite bathroom, a family room, and a study area.

The family room and study, serving as communal spaces, are adorned with views of the vertical garden visible through the glass walls. This element blurs the boundaries between the exterior and interior of the building site.

Natural stone materials such as andesite and marble dominate the exterior of the ground floor, creating a closed atmosphere. On the upper floors, there is an aluminum lattice structure with glass panel partitions, providing a transparent transition in the building's facade.

This house is truly beautiful both inside and out, leaving viewers in awe. Various houses designed by Wahana Architects have their unique characteristics, including lattice structures that offer protection and aesthetics in both the exterior and interior of the home.
