A Long House Designed Simply with a Unique Facade in its O

This small house, spanning 73 square meters, is located in Nha Trang, Vietnam. The interior spaces feature an intriguing layering design. This is primarily due to the fact that the house is situated in a densely built area, which resulted in narrow spaces and limited architectural possibilities.

Being erected in a busy market area, the house needed to counteract the bustling and dusty surroundings. Therefore, it was designed with a unique building layering concept that not only enhances its aesthetics but also maximizes comfort.

The three-story dwelling adopts an unusual spatial scheme, resembling a tube-like structure. By creating two layers, the house incorporates a front courtyard where air and light filter through. The outer facade is designed with a metal grid that acts as a security curtain.

From the outside, this house boasts a unique appearance due to its sloping metal layers. At the outermost part, a white iron fence can be folded open. Beyond it lies the front courtyard, adorned with various plants. To enter the house, visitors go through a wooden folding door.

The living room boasts high ceilings, creating a spacious and airy ambiance. The room feels open and refreshing, thanks to natural air circulation. Large windows on the upper part of the walls allow natural light and warmth to fill the room.

The ground floor still houses the kitchen, dining area, and storage space. At the back of the house, a small rear courtyard adds a touch of freshness to the interior. Additionally, a toilet is conveniently located next to this space.

Ascending the stairs, a door accessible from between the steps leads to the bedroom, which comes complete with an ensuite bathroom. Notably, there is a sink area that extends outward, partially visible from the staircase. The bedroom also features a window on each side, one opening to the relaxation space, and the other to the rear courtyard.

The space between the second and third floors serves as a relaxation area. It is surrounded by various plants both inside and outside near the window. The room is adequately illuminated and provides a warm atmosphere.

The topmost floor comprises a corridor connecting the bedroom to the bathroom. The bedroom itself features windows on both sides: one adjoining the relaxation area, and the other connected to the rear courtyard.

As for the bathroom, it is equipped with a shower and a large window on the back wall, allowing natural light to pour in. The bathroom maintains a natural feel, with grey stonework textured tiles. The sink is positioned outside the bathroom.

This compact house, with its limited width and elongated layout, has been skillfully designed by Chon.a Architect. The simple spaces, complemented by natural surroundings, lighting, and air circulation, ensure comfort within the abode. The interplay between the rooms adds an interesting dimension to the overall design.

At night, the house provides ample illumination and a cozy atmosphere. The outermost layer of the house offers a transparent view of the interior while still ensuring privacy in the private areas. Furthermore, each room is connected to open spaces that provide a refreshing touch to the interiors.
